Just two weeks to go until #MarchAgainstRacism on 18th March 2017: Help build a mass protests in LondonGlasgow and Cardiff supported by the TUC

There are just two weeks to go until the #MarchAgainstRacism protests on 18 March in London, Glasgow and Cardiff. The demos happen against the backdrop of Trump’s Muslim ban, Le Pen and the far-right making gains across Europe and Theresa May ramping up rhetoric against migrants and refugees as she prepares to invoke article 50. These anti-racist protests, supported by the TUC, can help shift the debate across Britain. We need to get tens of thousands onto the streets. Check out transport from your area here and get involved in building the protests where ever you are.

Migrants built our NHS! Demonstrate Sat Tavistock Square, London, WC1

Defend our health service - Migrants make our NHS! Help us on Saturday 4 March demo: Event page here
On Saturday tens of thousands of people will be coming to London to defend our NHS. The Tories, UKIP and others have claimed that the run-down of the NHS has been caused by “health tourism” and refugees and migrants coming to the UK. The truth is very different. It’s the Tories who have slashed funding for the health service while migrants, ancillary workers, nurses and doctors, help to keep the NHS running. We want to take the anti-racist message onto the demo with our Stand Up To Racism “Migrants make the NHS” placard and thousands of leaflets for the national march against racism on 18 March. We’ll also have a “Stand Up To Racism” block here on the demo.
Can you volunteer to help Stand Up To racism on Saturday? Meet us at the Stand Up To Racism Gazebo in Tavistock Square London WC1H 0 at 10.30am.

1 Day Without Us is a National Day of Action on 20th Feb 2017 to celebrate the contribution of migrants to the UK, to coincide with UN World Day of Social Justice.

For 24 hours, we are inviting migrants from inside and outside the European Union, and everyone who supports them, to celebrate the contribution that migrants make.

Some may choose to do this symbolically, by wearing badges and lanyards, posting selfies or pictures that show your support, or putting posters in their windows. Some may wish to have a communal meal or a party with the migrants they have known as friends, colleagues, workmates and neighbours. Workers may take a five-minute silence or a mini-rally at lunchtime or tea-time.

There are also those who may wish to highlight migrant contributions to the UK in more direct ways. Some may prefer a march or a rally. Others may decide to stop work or leave their classes for ten minutes or an hour or the whole day.

There are many ways that you can take part in this day. Do what you feel able to do and what you feel is most appropriate to your situation.

Whatever your nationality and place of origin; wherever you live and work, join us and make February 20 a day of protest, solidarity and celebration.

At 1pm we are inviting all migrants and their supporters to take part in a unifying action.  Link arms and/or hold up placards. Take photos and post them on social media using our hashtag #1DayWithoutUs. We also invite you to take selfies individually before and after this action and post them with your personal messages of support using the hashtag.
